OLD ISSAC'S GOOSE

I read in a book that when Mileva and Albert Einstein separated, he promised her the proceeds from the Nobel prize - even though he hd not yet been nominated for the prize! So certain he was in his mind that he would go on to get it...

The Last Reason

Very well written piece.
As I understand it, the basic thrust of the article is that army men are also human beings - and that they are fighting our wars, and bearing our burdens, for us. While we go about our ways,  concerned only with mundane matters, and unconcerned at the human toll.

Home Sweet Home

I have written another Sci-Fi short story - "The Trouble with Clones". Though, strictly speaking, it is not a robot story, I hope you like it as well.

Domestic Servants

Sheela Singh's resolve must be commended, because when many people achieve name and fame, they tend to forget their humble beginnings.

I think the way forward is to treat domestic service as employees - with all the rights and priviliges (as well as responsibilities) we give to employees in the private sector. Which must include, of course, a minimum wage and a decent standard of living.
Because, in a poor coutry like India where there is a great deal of unemployment, many persons are forced to take up domestic service as a livelihood.

I, THE FRUIT OF A FAILED MARRIAGE [SHORT STORY]

I wonder if you have read "The Continent of Circe" by Nirad C. Chaudhuri? He has a lot of very interesting things to say about borders, and about the creation of Bangladesh.

War And Capitalism

I think most nations look after their enlightened self-interest (or what they perceive to be their enligtened self-interest), irrespective of the nature of their political or economic system.
