The snakes do not curse
The innocent child in his play,
The snakes do not bite
The wayfarer on his way.
The snakes do not hunt for pleasure,
The snakes do not lust for the kill,
Indeed, they hiss to warn
The intruder in their den!
Of their wisdom,
The snakes are not overly proud,
On matters they do not know,
The snakes do not preach.
The snakes do not guard
Hidden treasure in their lair,
They dwell in harmony with nature,
When dried, their venom is an antidote to ill.
The snakes do not spread falsehoods
About their true nature,
Thus it is the snake is feared,
And at times it is revered,
Thus it is simple people wear its symbol,
As a charm against evil…
